WHY DINING A LA NOBU IS SUBLIME

If the name of famed international chef Nobu Matsuhisa does not bring a smile of recognition to your face, you have not yet become a fan of his unique Japanese/Peruvian fusion cuisine.

nobu3-7-25-13Even though you may have tried sushi occasionally and thought it was a nice change of pace in dining, you may not have experienced a very fresh authentic Japanese dinner with multiple delicious courses that are a treat for your taste buds.

If you live in an area with a Japanese grocery store that supplies hard to get ingredients from Japan and love to cook, you could get Nobu’s cook book and try to make the recipes yourself. However, the easiest way to try his special cuisine might be to reserve a table at one of his restaurants the next time you are in Los Angeles, Las Vegas or New York City. You will not be disappointed.

nobu6-7-25-13As part of a two week cruise on the Crystal Symphony recently, Nobu prepared various dishes while showing his techniques to all passengers who wanted to learn how he works in the kitchen. His demonstrations were both interesting and informative, but made me realize how much more I enjoy letting his well trained chefs prepare the food, while I take care of the tasting.

The presentation of the food is just as elegant as the flavor, so I have included a number of pictures to show what you can enjoy at Crystal Cruises’ Silk Road restaurant at no extra charge. Silk Road is supervised by Nobu and serves food prepared to his exacting standards by native Japanese chefs.

First, you can enjoy your dinner with your eyes and then with your mouth. It is no wonder that this reservation only restaurant is packed every night.

Have you eaten at a Japanese restaurant that you feel is outstanding?
