DO YOU HAVE TO GIVE UP LUXURY CRUISES TO TRAVEL WITH YOUR GRANDCHILDREN?

|

Crystal-Symphony-ShipNo, you do not! Beginning on June 4th, the Crystal Symphony will have nine new adjoining staterooms, which will make it easy for families with younger children to enjoy a luxury cruise together. Some adjoining staterooms have sofa beds, along with a queen or two twin beds, to accommodate a family group of five.

Crystal Cruses is unique among the luxury cruise lines in providing a children’s playroom and a teen center to entertain younger guests. Although the number of children on most cruises is fairly small, they are welcomed and enjoy a very special cruise experience.

It is possible to occasionally see a few children on other luxury cruise lines, some of whom are the families of the ship’s officers, but there are no programs for them or particularly designated family staterooms.

To encourage more multi-generational family cruising on their ships, Crystal offers a Special Family Memories Program, which offers families with 6 or more full fare passengers special ship board credit, as well as a free fare for a child under 17 years old occupying the third berth in the stateroom.

Many adults sailing on luxury cruises prefer not to have children sharing the ship with them. However, instead of turning the ships into children oriented activity centers, we have observed family groups celebrating milestone events such as anniversaries or birthdays with their own separate shore excursions and special tables in the dining room. The children are rarely seen by most of the other passengers, and the entire family has a wonderful time in upscale surroundings.

Of course, if you wanted to enjoy a luxury cruise with your grandchildren, you would undoubtedly seek out a Crystal Cruise itinerary. However, sometimes people are less tolerant of children they do not know. Would you be willing to sail on a luxury ship with children not related to you?
